A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to the Department of education.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2011-2012 for the auditor to conduct a comprehensive management, financial, and program audit of the department of education, and the sum appropriated shall be expended by the office of the auditor for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 2. The auditor shall conduct a comprehensive management, financial, and program audit of the department of education, and submit a report to the legislature of all findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2012.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
