A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth representative districts.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2012-2013:

     1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Kauai high school, Kauai

Construction for the renovation of existing Building T interior to enable the centralization of a new school technology center.

          Total funding                           $500,000

     B.   Ke Kula Ni'ihau O Kekaha learning center public                    charter school, Kauai

          Installation of sufficient solar voltaic panels as a               ground array and on buildings to meet the school's             electric needs.

          Total funding                           $200,000

     2.  To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:

     A.   Land acquisition purchase of allotments I and II (Carol Wilcox property), Kauai

Land acquisition purchase, plans, design, and construction for Hanalei boat ramp.                                 

          Land acquisition                      $2,000,000

          Plans                                         $0

          Design                                        $0

          Construction                                  $0

          Total funding                         $2,000,000

     B.   Li'i boat harbor ramp improvements and Waikaea canal drainage project, Kauai

Plans, design, and construction for reconstruction and renovation of Li'i boat ramp with corresponding erosion control study in order to implement drainage improvements that will help reduce erosion.

     C.   Polihale state park, Kauai

Plans and design for a study for site maintenance program for existing five-mile long access road to Polihale state park and possible realignment of existing access road over lands encumbered by the agribusiness development corporation.

          Total funding                           $200,000

     3.  To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

     A.   Kilauea school, Kauai

Construction for design plan revisions and installation of approximately 1000 feet of 12-inch ductile iron waterline, beginning at the existing 12-inch waterline along Kuhio highway and continuing approximately 450 feet through Pukalani place and extending along Kolo road approximately 550 feet to the Kilauea school, then connecting to the existing 8-inch waterline along Kolo road.                                     

          Construction                          $1,300,000

          Total funding                         $1,300,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012.
