A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to veterans cemeteries.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Act 164, Session Laws of Hawaii 2011, is amended by amending section 38 to read as follows:

     "SECTION 38.  Provided that of the general obligation fund appropriation for plans, land acquisition, design, and construction for miscellaneous upgrade and improvements to veterans cemeteries statewide, services to veterans (DEF112), the sum of $5,300,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2011-2012 and the sum of $           or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2012-2013 shall be used for land acquisition, planning, design, and construction for the expansion of burial space for the veterans cemetery in Makawao, Maui."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012.
