A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE TWELFTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $16,314,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2012-2013 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the twelfth representative district, as follows:

I.   To be expended by the department of health:

1.   Kula hospital, Maui

     A.   Repairs to facility         $2,500,000

              Total funding                         $2,500,000

     B.   Exterior renovations including hurricane windows upgrade, cottages   $2,900,000

              Total funding                         $2,900,000

     C.   Facility-wide ward room and building repairs and renovations     $6,720,000

              Total funding                         $6,720,000

     D.   Air conditioning system replacement and upgrades                      $396,000

               Total funding                           $396,000

     E.   Design and construction of

          Kula hospital storage facility $150,000

               Total funding                           $150,000

     F.   Repairs and renovations for

          Hale Makamae                $2,148,000

               Total funding                         $2,148,000

     G.   Master plan design

          Plans                         $500,000

              Total funding                           $500,000

II.  To be expended by the department of transportation:

          Haleakala highway and Makawao avenue, design and construction for left turn stacking lane; provided that funds are matched by the county of Maui

          Construction                $1,000,000

               Total funding                         $1,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2014, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  The sum appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012.
