A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE JOHN A. BURNS SCHOOL OF MEDICINE.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  (a)  The University of Hawaii shall examine the feasibility of relocating the John A. Burns school of medicine from the University of Hawaii – Manoa campus to the University of Hawaii – West Oahu campus.  The examination shall include specific information on:

     (1)  The cost of relocating the school;

     (2)  Possible means of funding the relocation; and

     (3)  The predicted effects of the relocation on student and professor placement and recruitment.

     (b)  The University of Hawaii shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2013.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
