A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FOURTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2011-2012.
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Pahoa high school, Hawaii
Construction and equipment for a gymnasium.
Construction $1,500,000
Equipment $1,500,000
Total funding $3,000,000
B. Pahoa elementary school, Hawaii
Plans, design, and construction for a new cafeteria.
Plans $450,000
Design $450,000
Construction $8,100,000
Total funding $9,000,000
C. Pahoa elementary school, Hawaii
Equipment for electrical system upgrade.
Equipment $909,000
Total funding $909,000
D. Keonepoko elementary school, Hawaii
Design and construction for covered walkways to portable buildings P10 and P11.
Design $100,000
Construction $100,000
Total funding $200,000
E. Keonepoko elementary school, Hawaii
Equipment for electrical system upgrade.
Equipment $435,000
Total funding $435,000
F. Keonepoko elementary school, Hawaii
Design and construction for the extension of the parking lot.

G. Kua o Ka La public charter school, Hawaii
Construction and equipment for the repair and maintenance of two classrooms.

2. To be expended by the department of Hawaiian home lands:
A. Makuu farmers association, Hawaii
Plans and design for a community center for the Makuu farmers association.

3. To be expended by the department of transportation
A. Puna Makai alternate route, Hawaii
Design the Puna Makai alternate route to connect Nanawale estates subdivision with the city of Hilo to improve vehicular, pedestrian, bicycle, and transit circulation and safety.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act. SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
