RELATING TO STATE MONEYS. Enhances the State's authority to invest in state bonds by authorizing the use of non-general fund moneys for that purpose. Effective July 1, 2030. (HB562 HD1)

RELATING TO TAXATION. Delays the standard deduction and personal exemption increases of Act 60, Session Laws of Hawaii 2009, but makes them permanent.

RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAX. Exempts from the GET the amounts received by a common paymaster to pay the remuneration for related persons to the common paymaster. Effective July 1, 2112. (HB848 HD2) [The Committee previously held a public hearing on SB 1107 SD1 that is substantially similar to the House measure listed. Please focus your testimony on the differences, if any, between the Senate and House measures.]

RELATING TO TAXATION. Repeals the changes that were made to taxation filing dates in Act 196, Session Laws of Hawaii 2009, and Act 22, Session Laws of Hawaii 2010. (HB973 HD1)

RELATING TO CONFORMITY OF THE HAWAII INCOME TAX LAW TO THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE. Provides a measure for conforming amendments to the Hawaii income tax law based upon amendments to the Internal Revenue Code made in calendar year 2010. Effective July 1, 2030. (HB1089 HD1) [The Committee previously held a public hearing on SB 1316 SD1 that is substantially similar to the House measure listed. Please focus your testimony on the differences, if any, between the Senate and House measures.]

RELATING TO TAXATION. Imposes conveyance tax on the transfer of a controlling interest of an entity with an interest in real property. Stipulates that the imposition of the conveyance tax on transfers of entity ownership shall not apply to any transfer of interest or acquisition between entities wholly owned by the same common ownership that results in no change in the beneficial ownership. Imposes the conveyance tax on certain transfers of real property at the lowest tax rate. (HB1180 HD1)

RELATING TO STATE FUNDS. Repeals, terminates, or closes certain revolving and trust funds. Requires agencies to report to the 2012 Legislature on their non-general funds. (HB79 HD1)

RELATING TO TAXATION. Requires the Department of Taxation to evaluate certain tax credits and tax exemptions and report to the Legislature. Provides automatic repeal of the tax credits and tax exemptions. (HB1270 HD1)

· In person: 1 copy of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 215, State Capitol.
· By fax: Testimony may be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to which committee the testimony is being submitted and the date and time of the hearing.
Please note: If you submit your written testimony after 4:00 p.m. the day prior to the hearing, please sign-in at the staff table to testify orally. A copy of your testimony may not be available during the hearing but will be posted online for the public after the hearing.
