NOTICE OF INFORMATIONAL BRIEFING

Thursday, October 27, 2011 |
TIME: |
1:30 p.m. |
PLACE: |
Conference Room 309 State Capitol 415 South Beretania Street |
A G E N D A
The purpose of this informational briefing is to provide the Office of Community Services the opportunity to hold a public hearing pursuant to Section 676(a)(2)(B) of the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Act. The CSBG is a federal, anti-poverty block grant that funds the operations of a state-administered network of local agencies. This CSBG network consists of more than 1,100 agencies that create, coordinate, and deliver programs and services to low-income Americans in 96% of the nation's counties. This flexible grant allows local agencies to conduct their own needs assessments to determine local program priorities, unlike many "one-size-fits-all" grants. Any member of the public with an interest in programming for low-income persons or families is highly encouraged to attend.
