The purpose of this informational briefing is to discuss the long term care continuum in Hawaii.  According to the Executive Office on Aging, by 2020 one in four Hawaii residents will be aged 60 or older.  Hawaii's population is graying faster than any state in the nation, thus the term "Silver Tsunami" has been used to describe Hawaii aging population.

1.  Adult Day Care for Seniors

2.  Community Care Family Foster Homes for the elderly and disabled

3.  Adult Residential Care Homes

4.  Case Managers

5.  Solutions and policy changes to better address long-term healthcare in Hawaii
