NOTICE OF INFORMATIONAL BRIEFING

DATE:

Friday, January 28, 2011

TIME:

3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Conference Room  325

State Capitol

The purpose of this informational briefing is to receive input from the community on foreclosures and related issues. The federal loan modification program has yielded very little results. There is concern that another wave of foreclosure is coming.  This info. briefing will look at:

  1. Non-judicial foreclosures and foreclosure issues outside of the condominium arena.
  2. Mortgage servicers:

a)  modification: facilitating direct negotiation between borrowers and investor, without loan servicers as intermediaries

b) Only requiring appraisals after a guaranteed loan approval, subject only to appraised value

  1.  Publication of foreclosed properties in both State and County newspapers.

Invited guests:

James Harry Esq., of Ivy Fosbinder Fosbinder, a law firm specializing in suing major U.S. banks for  non-compliance with federal and state banking and anti-trust laws.

Attorney General, Russell Suzuki

Other foreclosure experts, TBA

Home-owners who have applied for loan modification.
