Status

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Creates task force to examine Higher Education Act of 1965, to ensure compliance re state authorization of institutions offering educational programs beyond secondary education; and make recommendations re consolidation within one state agency of licensing and authorization functions of all primary, secondary, and post-secondary educational institutions in the State.  Requires LRB to provide research and administrative support.  Requires report to Legislature.  Effective 07/01/2050.  (SD2)

Status

RELATING TO THE HAWAII TOBACCO SETTLEMENT SPECIAL FUND.

Extends the appropriation by a decreasing annual amount of a portion of Hawaii tobacco settlement special fund moneys for annual operating expenses of JABSOM until June 30, 2015.  Establishes a University of Hawaii School of Public Health and dedicated Special Fund to receive the decreasing percentage amount from JABSOM appropriation.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (SB239 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Extends the exemption granted to the University of Hawaii from certain provisions of the Hawaii public procurement code to July 1, 2014.  Requires additional reporting to the legislature of construction contracts in excess of $3,000,000.  Effective 7/1/2050.  (SD2)

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
