Status

RELATING TO THE EMERGENCY AND BUDGET RESERVE FUND.

Increases from 5% to 10% the percentage of moneys from the excess general fund balance to be deposited into the emergency and budget reserve fund as a temporary source of funding for the State during times of emergency, severe economic downturn, and unforeseen reduction in revenues.

RELATING TO GENERAL EXCISE TAX LAW.

Allows payment of general excise taxes at financial institutions.  Requires financial institutions to pay general excise tax remittances to the state treasury, and report receipts to the department of taxation.  Directs department of commerce and consumer affairs to adopt rules.

Status

RELATING TO UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BENEFITS.

Authorizes an individual that is attached to a regular employer who is not offering work to receive unemployment insurance benefits even if the individual voluntarily or involuntarily separates from part-time employment, with or without good cause.  Effective July 1, 2011.

Status

RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES.

Makes it unlawful for any employer or labor organization to suspend, discharge, or discriminate against an employee solely because the employee uses accrued and available sick leave.  Allows an employer or labor organization to require written verification by a physician that the employee was ill.  Effective January 7, 2059.
