     Your Committee on Higher Education, to which was referred H.C.R. No. 289 entitled:

 

"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION URGING SUPPORT OF STATE FUNDING FOR NA PUA NO‘EAU STAFFING AND PROGRAMS,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this concurrent resolution is to continue to provide quality educational opportunities for gifted and talented Native Hawaiian children by urging the support of State funding for Na Pua Noeau staffing and programs.

 

     The University of Hawaii, Koolauloa Hawaiian Civic Club, Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs, Hilo Hawaiian Civic Club, and a concerned individual supported this measure.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Higher Education that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 289 and recommends that it be referred to the Committee on Hawaiian Affairs.
