A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO capital improvement projects for the benefit of the TENTH SENATORIAL district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2011-2012.
To be expended by the department of education:
A. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu
Resurface parking lot/play area between classrooms and fence.
Total funding $ 300,000
Electrical upgrades for computers school wide.
Total funding $1,000,000
Electrical upgrades for computers Building B & C (at the minimum).
Total funding $ 400,000
Resurface play courts lower/upper elementary.
Total funding $ 50,000
Repaint interior of the cafeteria kitchen.
Total funding $ 27,000
Irrigation hose bibs.
Total funding $ 25,000
B. Noelani elementary school, Oahu
Construction of multi-stalled student
bathroom, first floor B-building. $ 300,000
Total funding $ 300,000
Construction of extension of school
library for library resources and
technology/media center. $ 300,000
Total funding $ 300,000
C. Roosevelt high school, Oahu
Master plan. $ 250,000
Total funding $ 250,000
Renovation/expansion of the gym. $5,300,000
Total funding $5,300,000
Renovation/expansion of the bandroom. $4,300,000
Total funding $4,300,000
Construction of a multi-level parking
structure. $4,900,000
Total funding $4,900,000
D. Stevenson middle school, Oahu
Plan and design for an initial master
plan. $ 550,000

Plans, design, and construction of a
multi-purpose science learning
center, Building A. $7,200,000
Total funding $7,200,000
Plans, design, and construction of a
multi-purpose recreational facility. $1,500,000

E. Manoa elementary school, Oahu
Upgrade electrical system.
Plan and design $ 50,000
Construction 350,000
Total funding $ 400,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
