A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to consumer information.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 486, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part V be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§486- Fresh and previously frozen bread. (a) No bread product shall be permitted to use the term "fresh" in its labeling or advertising unless the product has been maintained in an unfrozen state at all times.
(b) Bread products that are baked and then frozen before sale shall be packaged with prominent labeling or printing that reads "previously frozen". The type size of the print shall be no less than a twenty-four point font."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
