A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to the hawaii revised statutes.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 607-1, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:

     "§607-1  [Power of supreme] Supreme court [with respect to]; costs and fees.  The supreme court shall have the power by rule of court, from time to time[,] to [revise, amend, add to,]:

     (1)  Revise or [eliminate] repeal any [of the items of] costs [and] or fees provided in this chapter[, to prescribe such];

     (2)  Prescribe any costs and fees as it deems reasonable in all cases not therein provided [for,]; and [to prescribe]

     (3)  Prescribe the amount of the costs and fees to be paid in advance to the clerk of any court in any judicial proceeding [on account of the costs and fees]."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
