HOUSE RESOLUTION
Requesting the department of transportation to create a new lane on liliha street between king street and vineyard boulevard.
WHEREAS, Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard experiences an inordinate amount of traffic; and
WHEREAS, the residents that live in the area that use the limited amount of street parking add to the congestion of Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the ensuing gridlock adds to the frustration of the residents of the area; and
WHEREAS, widening the stretch of Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard would help alleviate the traffic congestion by improving the flow of traffic through the area; and
WHEREAS, widening the stretch of Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard would help alleviate some of the frustrations of the residents in the area; and
WHEREAS, widening the stretch of Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard would also help and encourage economic growth through the expanding and fixing of vital infrastructure; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-sixth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2011, urges the Department of Transportation to create a new lane on Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Governor, the Director of the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Transportation Highways Administrator.
