A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to ceded lands.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  The department of land and natural resources shall conduct an audit of all state-held lands.  The audit shall include, at minimum:

     (1)  The parcel size;

     (2)  The parcel location;

     (3)  The state land use district;

     (4)  The tax map key;

     (5)  The state agency holding title; and

     (6)  The trust land status.

     SECTION 2.  The department of land and natural resources shall develop an inventory of ceded lands in the State, including, the location and size of each parcel.

     SECTION 3.  The department of land and natural resources shall submit a report to the legislature, including the state land audit and inventory of ceded lands, no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2012.
     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
