A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO THE COURTS
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 601, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§601- Courtroom use; restrictions. No courtroom, whether a district, family, circuit, or appellate courtroom, and no other room or place within any courthouse, shall be used for any private ceremony performed or administered by a judge or justice, if a fee is received by the judge or justice in connection with that ceremony."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
