A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the department of water county of kauai.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2011-2012.

     To be expended by the county of Kauai:

     A.   Kilauea water system, Kauai

     Kilauea school waterline fire protection improvements.

               Construction                         $1,000,000

                   Total funding                    $1,000,000

     B.   Wailua-Kapaa water systems, Kauai

     Kapaa storage tank fire protection improvements.

              Construction                         $3,000,000

                   Total funding                    $3,000,000

     C.   Hanalei water system, Kauai

     Hanalei school waterline fire protection improvements.

              Construction                         $3,000,000

                   Total funding                    $3,000,000

     D.   Wainiha-Haena water system, Kauai

     Design and construction of a 100,000-gallon storage tank, booster pump station, connecting pipeline, and appurtenances for fire protection improvements.

              Construction                         $3,000,000

                   Total funding                    $3,000,000

     E.   Wailua-Kapaa water system, Kauai

     Kawaihau road section, Kahuna and Piliamoo roads 12-inch and 16-inch water mains.  Water main design and construction for affordable housing infrastructure development.

              Construction                         $4,500,000

                   Total funding                    $4,500,000

     F.   Wailua-Kapaa water system, Kauai

     Drill, test, and develop Kapaa homesteads well number four for affordable housing infrastructure development.

              Construction                       $    600,000

                   Total funding                  $    600,000

     G.   Kekaha water system, Kauai

     Kekaha (Amfac) shaft and 12-inch waterline.  Design and construction of a new water source and connecting pipeline for affordable housing infrastructure development.

              Construction                         $3,000,000

                   Total funding                    $3,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
