HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
Requesting the department of transportation to create a new lane on liliha street between king street and vineyard boulevard.
WHEREAS, Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard experiences an inordinate amount of traffic; and
WHEREAS, the residents that live in the area that use the limited amount of street parking add to the congestion of Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the ensuing gridlock adds to the frustration of the residents of the area; and
WHEREAS, widening the stretch of Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard would help alleviate the traffic congestion by improving the flow of traffic through the area; and
WHEREAS, widening the stretch of Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard would help alleviate some of the frustrations of the residents in the area; and
WHEREAS, widening the stretch of Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard would also help and encourage economic growth through the expanding and fixing of vital infrastructure; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-sixth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2011, the Senate concurring, urges the Department of Transportation to create a new lane on Liliha Street between King Street and Vineyard Boulevard; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Governor, the Director of the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Transportation Highways Administrator.
