A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the FIRST representative District.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2011-2012.
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Haaheo school, Hawaii
Plans, design, and construction for pedestrian safety improvements. Install sidewalk along Haaheo road that leads to the school.

B. Paauilo school
Plans, design, and construction for pedestrian safety improvements. Install sidewalk along Hauola road that leads to the school.

Plans, design, and construction for electrical and lighting improvements to gym.

Plans, design, and construction for pedestrian safety improvements. Install sidewalk along Pakalana road above the school.

Plans, design, construction and equipment for a STEM/science building.

Dam rehabilitation and remediation.

Plans, design, and construction for water infrastructure for the Kapulena agricultural land and connect the project to the lower Hamakua ditch. Project to develop infrastructure, ground and site improvements, appurtenances, and all related project costs.

3. To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:

A. Kapiolani road extension, Hawaii

Plans, design, construction, and equipment for a nursing and culinary building.

5. To be expended by the Hawaii health systems corporation:
A. Hale Hoola Hamakua, Hawaii
Plans, design, and construction for the elder day care and Alzheimer's patient unit.

B. Kohala hospital emergency room, Hawaii

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agencies for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
