RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND TOURISM.

Establishes the department of business, economic development, and tourism operation special fund.  Imposes a surcharge on the fees charged by certain departments for certain business- and commerce-related authorizations and services.  Requires the deposit of the surcharge revenues, as well as $2 million from the financial institutions tax, into the special fund.  Requires moneys in the special fund to be used for the operation of the department of business, economic development, and tourism.  Takes effect on 7/1/10 and sunsets on 6/30/15.

RELATING TO TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATIONS TAX.

Requires the counties to:  (1) use their TAT proceeds for tourism-related purposes; and (2) report annually to the legislature on the use of their TAT proceeds.  If legislature determines any funds were not used for tourism-related purposes, requires that percentage of TAT revenues to be withheld from that county's distributive share during the following year.

RELATING TO TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATIONS TAX.

Repeals the temporary two percent increase in the Transient Accommodations Tax scheduled to be implemented between July 1, 2010, and June 30, 2015.  (HB1980 HD1)

RELATING TO FIREWORKS.

Establishes a cause of action to abate the illegal purchasing, selling, possession, setting off, igniting or discharging of fireworks.  Allows the court to order the closure of any place used in violation of the fireworks law.  Allows for the forfeiture of property used in violation of the fireworks law.  (HB1987 HD1)

RELATING TO TAXATION.

Exempts federally tax exempt companies that supply potable water from the state income and general excise taxes.

RELATING TO TAXATION.

Temporarily defers deductions against a taxpayer's net income tax liability for claims under the Technology Infrastructure Renovation Tax Credit and High Technology Business Investment Tax Credit between July 1, 2010, and June 30, 2013.
