Status

RELATING TO THE ALOHA TOWER DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION.

Establishes a task force to determine the feasibility and economic impacts of abolishing the Aloha Tower development Corporation (ATDC) and transferring various functions of ATDC to the Hawaii community development authority and the department of transportation.  Requires a report.  Makes appropriation for continued consultant services for the Harbors Modernization Plan.  Effective upon approval.  (SB2942 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO SHARK FINS.

Prohibits the harvest, possession, sale, or distribution of a shark or shark parts unless landed whole and harvested under a commercial marine license or noncommercial permit.  Prohibits under Hawaii Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, possession or sale of shark fins.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (SB2169 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO MARINE LIFE CONSERVATION DISTRICTS.

Requires if at all possible that 90 days written notice be given of any changes in the conditions of permits issued for the taking of marine life, boating, and other activities in Marine Life Conservation Districts.  (SB2409 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Clarifies the law for determining school impact fees for financing new or the expansion of existing Department of Education educational facilities.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (SB2828 HD1)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
