Increases capacity from two to three nursing facility level residents in Type I Expanded Adult Residential Care Homes.

Restores adult dental care under QUEST.

RELATING TO MEDICAL ASSISTANCE.

Requires the Department of Human Services to provide medical assistance for dialysis, chemotherapy, inpatient and outpatient physician visits, and drug prescriptions for immigrants and noncitizens from the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, or Palau.

Status

MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO ADDRESS THE BUDGET SHORTFALL FOR HAWAII QUEST.

Makes an emergency appropriation from the Emergency and Budget Reserve Fund to meet the general fund shortfall for payments to managed care plans contracted with the Department of Human Services to provide QUEST services.

RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES.

Directs the department of human services to replace its QUEST program with the predecessor public assistance programs including the state health insurance program.

RELATING TO CARE HOMES.

Creates a uniform set of regulations concerning home and community-based residential care homes.  Repeals current provisions relating to adult residential care homes, expanded adult residential care homes, and community care foster family homes.

RELATING TO PSYCHOTROPIC MEDICATION.

Makes a technical amendment to law on psychotropic medication.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
