The purpose of this informational briefing is to allow the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands  (DHHL) the opportunity to provide information and answers to the following:

 

      DEPARTMENT OF HAWAIIAN HOME LANDS - Kaulana Park, Director

 

     1.  What is DHHL's plan for generating revenues?

 

     2.  What is DHHL's plan for putting more native Hawaiians on their lands?

 

     3.  What is DHHL's plan for decreasing the wait-list?

 

     4.  What is DHHL's plan to help native Hawaiians obtain access to commercial leases?

 

     5.  What is DHHL's short and long term strategic plan to address the 600 million dollar settlement – 1995 Act 14)                 30 million dollar appropriations that expires at the end of 2014?

 

     6.  What is DHHL's actual operating costs vs. generating revenues?

 

     7.  What is DHHL's plan to sustain sufficient sums available for the following purposes as defined in The Constitution of   the State of Hawaii, Artice 12, Section 1, for purposes of (1) development of home, agriculture, farm, and ranch lots;

            (2) home, agriculture, aquaculture, farm and ranch loans; (3) rehabilitation projects to include, but not limited to,          educational, economic, political, social and cultural processes by which the general welfare and conditions of native        Hawaiians are thereby improved.
