Status

RELATING TO RENEWABLE ENERGY.

Requires that by 2015 a minimum of two per cent of each utility's renewable portfolio standard be from biofuel or from agricultural producers.

Status

RELATING TO GOVERNMENT.

Makes various amendments, establishes various initiatives, and appropriates funds to promote economic development for local food and energy businesses, ensure Hawaii is energy and food self-sufficient and sustainable to the maximum extent feasible, and help Hawaii's natural resources and humankind adapt and be resilient to the inevitable challenges brought on by climate change.  Provides a fuel tax exemption for commercial air transportation providers.

Status

RELATING TO RENEWABLE ENERGY FACILITIES.

Clarifies that the exemption from subdivision requirements for leases and easements for renewable energy facilities applies to renewable energy facilities on agricultural land approved by the Land Use Commission and renewable energy facilities on conservation land permitted by the Board of Land and Natural Resources.

RELATING TO RENEWABLE ENERGY.

Requires an exemption from subdivision requirements for a renewable energy facility to be deemed approved if not disapproved within the ninety-day time period.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
