PROPOSING AMENDMENTS TO THE HAWAII CONSTITUTION RELATING TO THE BOARD OF EDUCATION.

Amends the Hawaii Constitution to provide for a Board of Education whose members are to be appointed by the Governor, as provided by law. Effective July 1, 2020. (HB2376 HD3)

Requires the members of the Board of Education to be nominated and, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, appointed by the Governor from lists of qualified candidates presented to the Governor by the Board of Education Selection Advisory Council. Effective July 1, 2020. (HB2377 HD3)

When faxing, please indicate to which committee the testimony is being submitted and the date and time of the hearing.

Please note: If you submit your written testimony after 4:00 p.m. the day prior to the hearing, please sign-in at the staff table to testify orally. A copy of your testimony may not be available during the hearing but will be posted online for the public after the hearing.
