RELATING TO RESTORATION OF CERTAIN FORFEITED PROFESSIONAL AND VOCATIONAL LICENSES.

Establishes times limits to restore forfeited chiropractic examiner licenses and individual real estate broker and salesperson licenses.  (SD1)

Status

RELATING TO MORTGAGE FORECLOSURES.

Requires thirty days written notice of the mortgagee's intent to foreclose and make the mortgagor aware of the availability of mortgage counseling; requires a foreclosing mortgagee to, upon the mortgagor's request, provide a copy of the promissory note and mortgage documents before initiating foreclosure proceedings; and clarifies that seventy per cent of an appraisal or banker's price opinion is a fair and reasonable public sale price.  Effective 7/1/2050.  (SD2)

Status

RELATING TO THE SECURE AND FAIR ENFORCEMENT FOR MORTGAGE LICENSING ACT.

Makes amendments to the application, licensing, and regulatory requirements of the Secure and Fair Mortgage Licensing Act.  Establishes the mortgage recovery fund to protect consumers injured by violations of chapter 454F, HRS.  Includes mortgage loan originator companies in the regulatory system established by chapter 454F.  Authorizes the commissioner of financial institutions to hire temporary and permanent staff to effectuate the purposes of chapter 454F, HRS.  (SD2)

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
