A BILL FOR AN ACT
rELATING TO education.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 302A, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§302A- Parent organizations. (a) Every parent organization shall procure errors and omissions coverage and a fidelity bond of a reasonable amount for the parent organization's treasurer or other person entrusted with the parent organization's funds.
(b) For purposes of this section, "parent organization" means any group that is formed for the purpose of supporting and advocating for children in public education, whether at the school, complex, or state level."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
