A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to Appropriations for the general fund.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any provisions of chapter 431P, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to the contrary, there is appropriated out of the Hawaii hurricane relief fund of the State of Hawaii the sum of $50,000,000 for fiscal year 2010-2011 and the sum of $50,000,000 for fiscal year 2011-2012 for deposit into the general fund.

     SECTION 2.  The director of finance is authorized to:

     (1)  Issue in fiscal year 2012-2013, general obligation bonds in the sum of $33,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2012-2013;

     (2)  Issue in fiscal year 2013-2014, general obligation bonds in the sum of $33,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2013-2014; and

     (3)  Issue in fiscal year 2014-2015, general obligation bonds in the sum of $34,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2014-2015;

for deposit into the Hawaii hurricane relief fund for the purpose of reimbursing the Hawaii hurricane relief fund for moneys appropriated from the fund pursuant to this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
