A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the twelfth senate district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2009-2010.
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Central middle school, Oahu
Design and construction to enclose the pedestrian overpass that connects the mauka and makai campuses.

Total funding $ 195,000
B. William McKinley high school, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment for the renovation of building W, ground and site improvements, and appurtenances.
Design $ 700,000
Construction 9,000,000
Equipment 100,000
Total funding $ 9,800,000
C. William McKinley high school, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment for expansion of the cafeteria, ground and site improvements, and appurtenances.

D. Thomas Jefferson elementary school, Oahu
H building restrooms, renovation $ 100,000
Reroof cafeteria due to leaking 150,000

Electrical upgrade 465,000

2. To be expended by the University of Hawaii:
A. Honolulu community college, Oahu
Repair and upgrade of main campus fire alarm system.

B. Honolulu community college, Oahu
Replace air conditioning and install mold control systems.

C. Honolulu community college, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment for an advanced technology training center, site and ground improvements, and appurtenances.

3. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. State capitol building, Oahu
Design and construction to upgrade the water circulation system and to replace the lining system in the reflecting pools.

4. To be expended by the department of human services:
A. Pacific Gateway Center, Keehi Community Resource Center facility, Oahu
Plans and design for a building to serve as a central community resource center for existing Oahu community service agencies. This project qualifies as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

5. To be expended by the Hawaii housing finance and development corporation:
A. Kukui Gardens, affordable housing project, Oahu

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
