A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the thirty-eighth district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Mililani is 40 years old this year. District 38 encompasses the heart of Mililani and includes both its newest and oldest neighborhoods; four of the five elementary schools, the middle school and high school.
Requests include solar fans for Mililani Waena elementary school to be placed in the two four-classroom pods, which have high ceilings and no ventilation. This health and safety measure will help avoid constant requests for air conditioning and is a green solution.
Kipapa elementary school is older than Mililani Town itself. The paving of the parking lot and upgrade of the electrical system are long overdue and will help bring Kipapa up to the standards of the newer schools.
At Mililani high school, 2,500 students produce a lot of wear and tear on both the parking lot and the tennis courts, which require repaving.
