A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to beach access.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Chapter 115, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§115-  Shoreline access; identification; enforcement. The department of land and natural resources shall:

(1) Identify all shoreline public rights-of-way in the State;

(2) Provide information to the general public of all shoreline public rights-of-way with publications, brochures, electronic medium, or information hot-line or contact center; and

(3) Enforce obstruction of shoreline public access violations under section 115-9."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
