A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the sixth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2010-2011.
1. To be expended by the department of Hawaiian home lands:
A. La‘i ‘Ōpua community center, Hawaii
Plan and design the community center complex, which shall include a community center building and the West Hawaii community health center, to provide necessary health care and social service infrastructure for the villages of La‘i ‘Ōpua in the ahupua‘a of Kealakehe.
Total funds $1,526,750
2. To be expended by the Hawaii health systems corporation:
A. Kona community hospital, Hawaii
Design and implement "phase II" of earthquake/seismic mitigation, including replacement and anchoring of ceilings and anchoring of heavy equipment.
Total funds $3,500,000
3. To be expended by the department of water supply, county of Hawaii:
A. North Kona well, Hawaii
Improve the quality and reliability of the North Kona water system by constructing a new well.
Total funds $1,300,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
