A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATIONS TAX.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this bill is to repeal the temporary two per cent increase in the transient accommodations tax scheduled to be implemented between July 1, 2010, and June 30, 2015.

     SECTION 2.  Act 61, Session Laws of Hawaii 2009, is amended by amending section 4 to read as follows:

     "SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009, and shall be repealed on [June 30, 2015;] July 1, 2010; provided that sections 237D‑2 and 237D-6.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, shall be reenacted in the form in which they read on June 30, 2009."

     SECTION 3.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
