A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE seventeenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $16,876,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2010-2011, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the seventeenth senatorial district, as follows:

1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Mililani high school, Oahu

          Installation of synthetic turf in the sports stadium.

          Planning                        $1,000

          Design                          $1,000

          Construction                $2,498,000

          Total funding                              $2,500,000

     B.   Mililani high school, Oahu

          Design and construction to resurface the tennis courts.

          Design                          $1,000

          Construction                  $160,000

          Total funding                                $161,000

     C.   Mililani middle school, Oahu

          Repair leaks in roof of buildings G & F.

          Total funding                                $750,000

     D.   Mililani middle school, Oahu

          Design and construction of covered play courts.

          Design                          $1,000

          Construction                $2,499,000

          Total funding                              $2,500,000

     E.   Mililani middle school, Oahu

          Installation of portable restroom.

          Planning                        $1,000

          Construction                  $649,000

     F.   Mililani middle school, Oahu

          Installation of six portable classrooms.

     G.   Kipapa elementary school, Oahu

          Design and construction for a campus-wide electrical system upgrade.

          Repair/replace rusted cover on outdoor playcourt.

          Identify and repair potential leaking underground water pipes for school-wide air conditioning system.

          Construction                  $999,000

     J.   Mililani Uka elementary school, Oahu

          Cafeteria Stage Renovation.

     K.   Mililani Uka elementary school, Oahu

          Replace kindergarten playground

     L.   Mililani Uka elementary school, Oahu

          Design and construction for a campus-wide electrical system upgrade.

2.   To be expended by the department of transportation:

     A.   Meheula parkway, Mililani, Oahu

          Planning for a second lane entering the H-2 freeway for vehicles traveling from Mililani Mauka.

     B.   Planning and design for elevated pedestrian walkway makai to mauka over H-2 freeway at Mililani interchange.

     C.   Kamehameha highway, Mililani, Oahu

          Plans, design and construction of bikeway on both sides of Kamehameha highway from Lanikuhana avenue to Kuahelani avenue.

          Total funding                              $1,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2012, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
