A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO LIMITED BENEFIT HEALTH INSURANCE.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 431, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to article 10A to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§431:10A-    Limited benefit health insurance.  No provision of this article enacted after July 1, 2010 relating to a policy of accident and health or sickness insurance shall apply to an accident-only, specified disease, hospital indemnity, long-term care, medicare supplement, disability, dental, vision, or other limited benefit health insurance policy unless the relevant provision expressly states that it applies to an accident-only, specified disease, hospital indemnity, long-term care, medicare supplement, disability, dental, vision, or other limited benefit health insurance policy.

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
