A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to water.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 107, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part II to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§107- Catchment or other private water systems on premises served by public water system. Water catchment or other private water systems may be used on premises served by a public water system provided that:
(1) If the two systems are not interconnected, water from the catchment or other private water system shall be used only as non-potable water; or
(2) If the two systems are to be interconnected:
(A) The interconnection shall meet county requirements; and
(B) The rated capacity of the catchment or other private water system shall not be used to calculate the number of water fixtures to be permitted for service on the premises."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
