A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the twenty-fifth representative district.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The twenty-fifth representative district encompasses the area of Tantalus, Makiki, and McCully.

     The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds for capital improvement projects for the twenty-fifth representative district.

     SECTION 2.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2010-2011:

     To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Halau Ku Mana charter school, Oahu

          Purchase portable stage.

              Equipment                           $      9,000

                   Total Funding                  $      9,000

     B.   Lincoln elementary school, Oahu

          Complete upgrade of air conditioning

          project underway in buildings

          A, B, D, and E.

          Plans, design, construction,

          labor and supplies.

              Plans and design                    $    500,000

              Construction, labor,

              and supplies                           6,000,000

                   Total Funding                  $  6,500,000

          Resurface kindergarten playground

          equipment behind building G, removing

          sand and installing safety matting.

               Plans, design, construction,

               labor, and supplies                 $     75,000

                   Total Funding                  $     75,000

     C.   R.L. Stevenson middle school, Oahu

          Initial plan and design phase of

          master plan.

              Plans                               $    225,000

              Design                                   225,000

                   Total Funding                  $    450,000

          Plan, design, and construction

          of building A, multi-purpose

          science learning center.

                   Total Funding                  $  7,200,000

          Plan, design of multi-purpose

          recreational facility.

     D.   Roosevelt high school, Oahu

          Create master plan.

              Plans                               $    250,000

          Renovation and expansion of gym,

          health and fitness classrooms,

          shower facilities.

              Construction                           5,000,000

                   Total Funding                  $  5,300,000

          Renovation and expansion of

          band room.

     SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 2 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
