A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the TWENTY-seventh representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2009-2010 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the nineteenth representative district, as follows:
I. To be expended by the Department of Education:
A. Farrington High School, Oahu
(1) Demolition of swimming pool and construction
of 3-story building and road improvements (First Phase)

(2) Electrical upgrade for building R

(1) Improvements to parking lot areas to avoid

II. To be expended by the Department of Transportation:
A. Kuakini Street, Oahu
(1) Construction of road extension of
Kuakini Street from its present terminus
at Lanakila Avenue in the northwest direction
to tie into the existing Keola Street.

III. To be expended by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation:
A. Maluhia Hospital, Oahu
(1) Plan, design, and construction of an
auxilliary parking lot to improve
the remnant area left by the Kuakini
Street extension project for use by
Maluhia Hospital.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2012, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
