SB 1122 Testimony	RELATING TO PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT. Amends various sections of HRS to comply with Act 253, Session Laws of Hawaii 2000, which places restrictions on the creation of civil service exempt positions and requires an annual review of exempt positions to determine whether they should be converted to civil service positions. SB 1271 Testimony	RELATING TO PUBLIC EMPLOYEES. Requires state executive department and state legislative branch employees who are exempt from chapter 76, HRS (civil service law) to use or donate accumulated and accrued vacation allowance prior to discharge, or to forfeit remaining vacation allowance and any compensation in lieu of retaining vacation allowance upon discharge.  Sunsets December 31, 2010. SB 713 Testimony	MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE EMERGENCY ENVIRONMENTAL WORKFORCE. Appropriates funds to continue the emergency environmental workforce program in light of recent national and local economic downturns and wars, and provides for the continuation of the emergency environmental workforce during future periods of warfare or significant economic hardship. SB 1622 Testimony	RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT SECURITY. Requires certain employers to retain employees who were displaced from an employer by divestiture through a transfer of a covered establishment to a new employer.	LBR, JGO

SB 44 Testimony	RELATING TO THE HAWAII HEALTH SYSTEMS CORPORATION. Requires (1) department of health to assume all community hospital liabilities accrued up to 6/30/1996; and (2) Hawaii health systems corporation (HHSC) to assume all subsequent liabilities.  Clarifies HHSC responsibility for payments into the employees' retirement system funds for its employees.
