RELATING TO FAMILY COURT.

Increases the maximum term of a temporary guardianship of a minor from six months to twelve months.

Adopts the new Interstate Compact for Juveniles and establishes the family court's jurisdiction under the compact.  Appropriates funds.  (SB109 HD1)

RELATING TO BUREAU OF CONVEYANCES.

Transfers fee time share interest from the land court system to the regular system; establishes a working group to resolve implementation issues. Establishes a pilot program to implement electronic recording of fee time share interests.  Allows bureau of conveyances to charge a fee for deregistration of a fee time share interest.  (SD2)

Clarifies that all income withholding payments be sent through the Child Support Enforcement Agency; allows the agency to disburse support by electronic deposit or debit card; allows for electronic copy or facsimile of a signature as proof of service for certified mail; clarifies lien payment and enforcement.  (SB851 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO THE HUMANE TREATMENT OF PET ANIMALS.

Clarifies animal cruelty law.  Prohibits the confinement of a pet animal in a kennel or cage in cruel or inhumane manner or for an unreasonable period of time.  Prohibits the tethering of a dog to a stationary object with a chain, or choke, pinch, chain, or prong collar.  Amends the law on animal hoarding. Status

RELATING TO USE OF FORCE.

Permits the use of deadly force by the resident of a dwelling against a person not lawfully in the dwelling who uses force against the resident.  Expands the exemption from the duty to retreat from the home and workplace to any place where the actor may lawfully be present.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (SD1)

Status

RELATING TO LIMITING CIVIL LIABILITY.

Limits the civil liability of property owners for damages to persons injured or killed on premises while committing certain felony offenses.  (SD1)
