NOTICE OF INFORMATIONAL BRIEFING

The purpose of this informational briefing is to review suggestions from faith based organizations and survivors of domestic violence on how the State of Hawaii can improve its domestic violence services.  The faith based organizations will discuss potential educational and awareness campaigns that will provide possible options to better address domestic violence in our communities.  The Human Services Committee will discuss ways in which the domestic violence safety net can be improved and how faith-organizations can network to better address gaps in services for victims of domestic violence.

 

The Committee will also discuss how a continuum of religious freedom is critical to faith based organizations and charitable individuals who provide human services.

 

The following organizations/individuals have been invited to participate:

 

Kenneth Copeland Ministries; and

 

Believers Stand United; and

 

The Executive Director of GirlFest Hawaii; and

 

Aya Sato; and

 

A Domestic Violence Survivor; and

 

Diamond Badajos the relative of Janel Tupuola; and

 

A member from Royal Kaukani's family; (Tentative) and

 

Other Organizations for Domestic Violence Victims.

 

In order to ensure the courtesy for all of the testifiers, please limit comments to no more than 5 minutes. 

 

No public testimony will be accepted.
