The purpose of this joint legislative informational briefing is to update the Committee on Health and Committee on Energy and Environmental Protection by providing an overview of the history of the existing state water quality standards and current condition of the City and County of Honolulu’s treatment facilities at the Sand Island and Honouliuli Wastewater Treatment Plants.  The informational briefing will also discuss how the existing state water quality standards differ from the water quality standards that are currently recommended by the EPA and the DOH and the delay in updating and correcting the existing water quality standard affects for the City and County of Honolulu and its residents.

Dr. Hans Krock - (Professor of Ocean Engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa)

 

Dr. Fujioka - (Professor of Water Resources at University of Hawaii at Manoa)
