RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS. Raises to $3,600 the maximum amount of the special assessment for delinquent monthly common assessments that can be charged against a person who purchases a condominium unit. Expands limitations on association liability for elderly unit owners aging in place to include handicapped and disabled persons.

RELATING TO LONG-TERM CARE. Implements the long-term care partnership program, allowing individuals who have exhausted their private long-term care insurance coverage to qualify for medicaid coverage for continued long-term care prior to exhausting their resources.

RELATING TO LONG-TERM CARE. Provides tax credit to resident taxpayers for long-term care insurance premiums at lesser of $2,500 or 50% of the amount of the insurance premium paid. Prohibits a medical expense deduction for long-term care insurance cost if long-term care tax credit is claimed.

RELATING TO LONG-TERM INSURANCE TAX CREDIT FOR SMALL BUSINESS. Grants tax credit to small businesses at the lesser of 50% of premiums or $500 per employee for purchase of long-term care insurance for its employees. Defines small business as businesses employing less than 100 full-time or part-time workers.

RELATING TO FORECLOSURES. Requires foreclosing lender to give notice to tenants of rental housing units facing foreclosure before tenant may be served with an eviction notice. Requires landlords to give notice of pending foreclosure to tenants of dwelling units. Provides remedies.

· In person: 1 copy of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 226, State Capitol.
· By fax: Testimony may be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to which committee the testimony is being submitted and the date and time of the hearing.
Please note: If you submit your written testimony after 4:30 p.m. the day prior to the hearing, please sign-in at the staff table to testify orally. A copy of your testimony may not be available during the hearing but will be posted online for the public after the hearing.
