Requires that all letterheads, documents, symbols, and emblems of the State and other political subdivisions include both state languages.  Effective 01/01/2050.  (SD2)

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Prohibits the development, testing, propagation, release, importation, planting, or growing of genetically engineered taro in the State of Hawaii.  Effective 7/1/50.  (SD2)

RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS.

Resolves claims and disputes relating to the portion of income and proceeds from the lands of the public land trust for use by the office of Hawaiian affairs between 11/7/1978 and 7/1/2009; conveys certain parcels of real property in fee simple to the office of Hawaiian affairs.  (SD2)

Status

RELATING TO CEDED LANDS.

Prohibits the sale or transfer of ceded lands until the unrelinquished claims of the native Hawaiian people are resolved, reconciliation between the State and the native Hawaiian people is no longer supported, or until December 31, 2014, whichever occurs first; establishes a process for the sale or transfer of ceded lands, to be implemented only when one of the foregoing conditions occurs.  Effective 7/1/50.  (SD2)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee the comments are directed to;

·     The date and time of the hearing;

·     Measure number; and

·     The number of copies the Committee is requesting. 

 

While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
