RELATING TO INSURANCE. Requires health insurance providers to provide health insurance coverage for all chemotherapy treatment, including orally administered chemotherapy, under the same terms and conditions and at a rate calculated according to the same methods as payment or reimbursement for intravenously administered chemotherapy. Effective July 1, 2020.

RELATING TO PHYSICIAN WORKFORCE ASSESSMENT. Creates John A. Burns school of medicine special fund; establishes a physician workforce assessment fee to renew physician and osteopathic physician licenses. Transfers those fees from compliance resolution fund for deposit to the special fund for Hawaii physician workforce assessment information. Appropriates funds. Requires annual and biennial reports. Repeals the physician workforce assessment fee and the transfer of fees from the compliance resolution fund on June 30, 2012.

RELATING TO HEALTH. Appropriates money to match federal funds for Medicaid.

RELATING TO TOBACCO. Makes permanent the retail tobacco permit law.

RELATING TO TEMPORARY HEALTH INSURANCE FOR UNEMPLOYED PERSONS. Provides temporary health insurance for unemployed persons who lost their health insurance.

RELATING TO TATTOO ARTISTS. Updates the regulation of tattoo artists and tattoo shops in the State.

RELATING TO ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTIONS. Establishes the electronic prescription task force to develop a plan to implement an electronic prescription drug program not later than 7/1/11. Requires report to Legislature prior to the 2010 regular session of the Legislature. Effective July 1, 2020.

RELATING TO REMOTE DISPENSING. Authorizes remote dispensing pharmacies to provide medications to patients with health insurance coverage; allows remote dispensing pharmacies to dispense controlled substances. Effective July 1, 2020.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW
