RELATING TO ENERGY EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS.

Comprehensively addresses deficiencies in Hawaii's energy emergency preparedness statutes; Provides up-to-date policy guidance needed for consistency with current federal and state energy emergency and overall emergency management policies and plans, and to provide definitive guidance on critical energy data analyses functions.  Effective 01/01/2020.  (HB1051 HD1)

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Changes the name of the Environmental Health Education Fund to the Sanitation and Environmental Health Fund and allows the Fund to be used for sanitation program activities.  (HB36 HD1)

RELATING TO TARO SECURITY.

Prohibits the development, testing, propagation, release, importation, planting, or growing of genetically modified Hawaiian taro in the state.  Prohibits certain activities related to genetically modified non-Hawaiian taro. (HB1663 HD1)

RELATING TO PUBLIC SCHOOL FACILITIES.

Requires construction and renovation of public school facilities to meet the Collaborative for High Performance Schools standards.  Requires replacement of old portable buildings with high performance classrooms.  Also requires prioritization of public school facilities projects in accordance with certain criteria.  (HB986 HD1)
