RELATING TO OWNER-BUILDERS. Requires applicants for county building permits under the owner-builder exemption from the contractor licensing law to submit their state and federal tax identification numbers, federal and state tax clearances, and certificate of workers' compensation insurance. RELATING TO INTOXICATING LIQUOR. Requires class 5 dispenser liquor licensees to carry liability insurance as a condition of acquiring, transferring, and renewing a license. (SB300 HD1)

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE. Creates a driver exclusion endorsement to enable a named insured to exclude specified persons from being covered under a policy. Effective July 1, 2050. (SB58 HD1)

RELATING TO INSURANCE. Amends Act 177, Session Laws of Hawaii 2008 (Life Settlements Model Act) by repealing the requirement that the insurance commissioner report annually to the legislature on the implementation and effects of Act 177 and by making the Act permanent.

RELATING TO DENTISTS. Authorizes the board of dental examiners to sanction licensees for false or misleading advertising.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW
Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing with a transmittal cover indicating:
· Testifier's name with position/title and organization;
· The Committee the comments are directed to;
· The date and time of the hearing;
· Measure number; and
· The number of copies the Committee is requesting.
While every effort will be made to copy, organize, and collate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed to the incorrect office, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

FAX: For comments less than 5 pages in length, transmit to CPC Vice Chair at 586-6221 (Oahu) or 1-800-535-3859 (Neighbor Islands); or
EMAIL: For comments less than 5 pages in length, transmit to CPC Vice Chair at CPCtestimony@Capitol.hawaii.gov.
Testimony submitted will be placed on the Legislative Web site after the hearing adjourns. This public posting of testimony on the Web site should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
